I want to let you in on a little
secret…
In fact, I was straight up TERRIBLE with
it! In my “previous life” (as I like to call it), I worked in the high-powered world of Wall Street, and
spent way too much on clothes, rent, going out, and keeping up appearances.
Although I looked successful on the outside, what wasn’t visible under the surface was that I had
$100k of student loan debt, and most months I was just one paycheck away from going broke.
I felt so hopeless and overwhelmed that I preferred to stay in the dark about my finances, and it
went on like that for years.
But in the winter of 2014, call it my “financial awakening”, but I hit my knees (thank you,
Universe!). I realized I hated my job, I had no life outside of work, and went through a difficult
breakup, all at the same time. All of that prompted me to do some soul searching, dig deep, and finally
face the truth about my finances.
It was hard, but when the pain of continuing on the same path
becomes greater than the pain of making a change, you have no other choice but to take action.
I could either take control of
my finances,
or forever allow the lack of money to dictate what I could or couldn’t do with my life. I
chose the first.
With newfound
determination, I started climbing my way out of debt and learning how to get good with money. I sought
out mentors, courses, seminars, and read hundreds of books from the likes of Warren Buffett, Suze Orman,
Robert Kiyosaki, and David Swensen.
I took action on everything I learned, and slowly but surely, my net worth reached positive
territory. It was empowering!
After a very zigzag
journey, not only am I debt-free but have also built up a seven-figure investment portfolio.
Furthermore, anything I choose to do with my life is because I WANT to, not because I have to. Now,
instead of filling me with a sense of dread, thinking about my finances gets me excited!
I’m sure
life (and the economy) will throw some financial curveballs my way, but I’m confident in my ability to
navigate it and always be in the driver’s seat of my life.
That’s the beautiful thing about financial literacy. Once you have it, no one can take that away
from you.
Whatever your
starting point is, I’m here to cheer you on and give you that (not-so-gentle) nudge to start doing more
for yourself and your money.itsrosehan.comitsrosehan.com
I make plenty of mistakes and I don’t have all the answers, but my commitment is to be your
guide. To “go first”, so that I can share with you what works (and what doesn’t), simplify a complicated
financial world, and do everything I can to help you believe in yourself and reach your financial
dreams.
After all, you are worth it.
